Cardento’s pedigree includes many of the great Holsteiners.
His sire, Capitol I, is justly deemed as one of the best show jumping sires in the world. He has over 21 approved sons, many of which have competed Internationally in Show Jumping. Cardento is one of five Capitol offspring that have taken part in the Olympic Games. Capitol offspring are noted for their brilliant jumping ability and fantastic willingness to perform. Some of his most notable offspring include Carthago, Cento, Cassini and Corrado.
His dam line, stamm 741, combines the blood of Lord, one of Ladykiller’s best sons, and Sacremento Song, sire to the famous stallion Sandro Z. Both are noted for producing world class show jumpers and they both have sired quality approved stallion sons and approved broodmares.
Cardento has won several grand prix’s in international show jumping. He has also won two Nations Cups and received 6th place in the World Cup Qualifiers. In the European Championships he finished 15th in the individual finals and won the Silver Medal with the Swedish team. In the 2002 World Equestrian Games, he was 13th in the individuals and again won the Silver Medal with the Swedish team. In 2004 he competed in the Athens Olympic Games and once again helped the Swedish team to another Silver Medal.
Cardento’s first offspring are excelling in show jumping. They are striking in power, scope and technique. Classic Lady became World Champion of the 7 year old horses in Lanaken 2006. In 2005, 18% of the Swedish Championship horses were sired by Cardento, for which he was awarded the Breeder’s Trophy. Cardento has also sired the Champion of Sweden’s 3 year old jumpers for four years in a row.
